Women come into my studio during some of the most transformative seasons of their lives — pregnancy, maternity leave, early motherhood, career transitions, rediscovering themselves after change.
What I’ve learned is this:
It’s never just about the photos.
It’s about creating a space where you can pause.
Where you are not managing everyone else.
Where your identity matters, not just your roles.
Through my studio, I offer intentional portrait experiences designed to honour you in this season - whether you are a high-achieving professional navigating mat leave, a woman building her career while raising young children, or a mother who has chosen to be home full-time and wants to feel seen beyond the daily demands of family life.
Photography here is about more than images. It is about witnessing yourself.
Alongside my work as a photographer, I am currently completing my clinical education toward becoming a Registered Psychotherapist. Over the next 1.5 years, I will be preparing to open a separate psychotherapy practice in Ontario, and as an Art Therapist across Canada, while focused on women’s mental health, particularly during maternity leave and the early years of raising young families.
That future practice will offer structured talk therapy as well as art therapy approaches, including photography as one of many reflective tools used within a therapeutic setting.
To be clear:
Photography services are offered through the studio.
Psychotherapy services, once available, will be provided through a separate professional practice in accordance with regulatory and insurance requirements.
Different services. Different settings. One shared commitment:
To create spaces where women, whether leading in boardrooms or leading at home, feel supported, respected, and emotionally seen.
Because in the midst of caring for everyone else, your mental health deserves to be a priority too.
Heaps of love,
Marcie
